How to setup Domain and configure it.

As a DevOps, you have to know basic things about domains. I will be glad if someone would explain these things focused on beginners:

Domain Management
Zone File
Record types in zone file(MX, NS...)

different tools and options available for system admins for this task
(eg. http://mxtoolbox.com/)

Reasons behind slow response to domain configuration changes.
