I am also encountering issues. As of this morning, I have been unable to access any Pluto channels regardless of region. |

From what I understand, each channel needs to be served by a computer somewhere. That computer or collection of computers has a limit to how many streams it can do at once. At peak watch times, you may not be able to watch popular channels. I'm experimenting with P2P on my site broadcastatlas.com, but the number of viewers it would take to make that worthwhile I will probably never see. I do see P2P as a solution but with the current architecture, I'm not sure how it would be implemented. If I was running something like Pluto I'd probably bake it in for sure. I am guessing that outfits like Pluto have servers that mirror the streams for their own customers which is why they are fast and reliable and low in number compared to IPTV. |
