My Omarchy doesn't run as fast as it runs on charging.

I am on a laptop, and my Omarchy runs smoothly while plugged in but doesn't work the same when on battery power. Even tho I select the performance power plan. Any Idea why this is?

And I've been using it for 5 - 6 months now. Ignore the OS age. I reinstalled it.

Omarchy remembers the power profile separately for AC and battery, and switches to the remembered one each time you plug or unplug (omarchy-powerprofiles-set, triggered by the battery service when UPower's on-battery state changes). The defaults are performance on AC and balanced on battery. If you picked performance while plugged in, it was only saved for AC, so as soon as you unplug you're back on balanced.

To keep performance on battery too, pick it from the menu while unplugged, or run:

omarchy-powerprofiles-set battery performance

Then unplug and check with powerprofilesctl get. If it already says performance on battery and it's still slower, it's the laptop itself: most firmware lowers CPU/GPU power limits on battery regardless of the OS profile, and there isn't much Omarchy can do about that.
