   We have updated from 3.3.1 to 3.4.0 today and we also see problems with the delivery report.
   I feel like its connected to #1128. Because the problem occurs when the connection is slow. Then I am seeing

   rdkafka: 2.118s (time it needs to connect to Kafka)
   error [LibrdKafkaError: Local: Broker transport failure] {

   }
   error [LibrdKafkaError: Local: All broker connections are down] {

   I have attached a zip, which reproduces the problem. You need to run the npm run start command a couple of times. The bug does not appear every time.

   Running npm run start-prev (3.3.1) does not throw these errors at all, but the delivery report also takes around 2s. Not sure this is normal.

   Tested with Kafka v2/v3.
