Summary

Main CI has two failures. This PR fixes the first one. The second one is caused by how PRs get merged, not by repository code.

  1. Go vulnerability scan. It reports GO-2026-6865, a panic on two-block frames in github.com/klauspost/compress@v1.20.1. tooling.VerifyCheckpointOrigin reaches it through io.Copy. This PR bumps the module to v1.20.2. Only go.mod and go.sum change.
  2. Commit policy. It has failed on main since fix(queue): stop polling clients from reading all job history #77. GitHub now authors squash-merge commits as Dunky13@users.noreply.github.com, but their trailer reads Signed-off-by: Marc Went <marc@went.io>, so CheckCommits reports a missing author-matching DCO sign-off. Up to test(queue): fix a drain test race and cover removal holder evidence #76, squash commits were authored as marc@went.io and passed. The checker is correct and stays unchanged. To keep main green, squash merges need the matching author email, for example gh pr merge --squash --author-email marc@went.io.

Verification

  • govulncheck@v1.9.0, run the way CI runs it, now reports 0 vulnerabilities affecting the code. Before the bump it reported GO-2026-6865.
  • go build ./... and go test -p 2 ./internal/tooling pass.
  • queue-tool check-commits --verify-local passes for this branch.

The Go vulnerability scan on main fails on GO-2026-6865, a panic on
two-block frames that tooling.VerifyCheckpointOrigin reaches through
io.Copy. v1.20.2 carries the fix.
