Abaqus Batch Runner A dark-themed, PyQt6-powered desktop application for sequential Abaqus FEA automation. Queue multiple .inp jobs, monitor live progress via STA/MSG parsing, visualize convergence data in real time, and terminate entire process trees cleanly.

Ready to use: A standalone executable is available in the PRODUCTIVE folder — no Python installation or build step required.

Features

Dracula Dark UI — Easy on the eyes for long simulation sessions. Dynamic Abaqus Detection — Auto-discovers the newest Abaqus installation or allows manual override. Job Queue — Add, remove, reorder, and batch-run .inp files sequentially. Live Overview — Real-time table with step, increment, and total time parsed from .sta files. Convergence Charts — Interactive matplotlib plots of residual forces, moments, contact errors, and severe discontinuity iterations per increment. Safe Termination — Stop and Skip kill the full Abaqus process tree, including detached solver processes (SMAStaMain, standard, explicit, etc.) located by working directory. CPU Limiting — Adjustable parallel CPU count, defaulting to the number of physical cores.

Quick Start

Open the PRODUCTIVE folder. Run AbaqusBatchRunner.exe. Verify or select your Abaqus executable (auto-detected when possible). Click + Add to load .inp files into the queue. Press ▶ Start Batch to run jobs sequentially.

Usage Tips

Auto-follow: The UI automatically tracks the running job unless you manually select another one; it reverts after a short period of inactivity. Chart toggles: Show/hide lines for Force, Moment, Contact Error, and SDI via the convergence toolbar. Restarting: Aborted or skipped jobs are automatically re-queued when you press Start Batch again. Process safety: Stopping a job hunts down orphaned Abaqus solvers by process name + working directory, preventing accidental kills of unrelated simulations.

Development Run from source: pip install PyQt6 matplotlib psutil python abaqus_batch_runner.py Regenerate the UI module after editing main_window.ui: pyuic6 main_window.ui -o ui_main_window.py
