Radar systems engineer in Taiwan. I came up through RF β antennas, circuits, measurement β but these days I spend less time on the front end alone and more on the system around it: signal chain, firmware, integration, and making the whole thing behave in the field.
I studied electrical engineering at NTUST, where my research was a circularly polarized self-oscillating active integrated antenna for wireless charging, plus 24 GHz and 77 GHz antenna arrays. That's where the RF background comes from; the software half I picked up because the problems kept crossing over.
I write at wellstsai.com β tutorials, tool reviews, trip notes, and the occasional rant. The cat in the logo is Xiao Mi; the blog started as a way to keep that memory somewhere.
Facts speak for themselves.
- Radar systems β antenna array calibration, UWB positioning, and the signal chain from front end to output.
- Hardware bring-up β MCU and SoC selection, firmware, and the unglamorous part where the bench setup disagrees with the datasheet.
- AI tooling β Claude Code, Copilot, Antigravity, local MCP servers, and keeping track of what the pricing actually costs.
- Networking and privacy β Tailscale, Cloudflare, mDNS, and a home lab that got more complicated than it needed to be.
- Best AI Subscription 2026 Is Claude, Not ChatGPT or Gemini β after paying for all of them.
- Looking Like You Know AI and Actually Knowing AI Are Two Different Things
- Fix CVEs with Git Patch, Yocto and BitBake
- Tailscale ACL Tutorial β grants syntax, tags, and keyless SSH.
- Don't Polish the Turd β when a workplace mess has no clean fix.
