Aspiring Cybersecurity Professional focused on networking, Linux, web fundamentals, and practical security learning. This repository contains my portfolio website, learning notes, and selected cybersecurity projects.
I am learning cybersecurity through structured study, hands-on practice, and technical documentation. I use Kali Linux to develop my understanding of operating systems, networking, and security tools.
My approach emphasizes understanding commands, checking results, and documenting what has and has not been verified. Skills and project status should reflect actual evidence rather than assumed completion.
| Area | Focus |
|---|---|
| Networking | TCP/IP, subnetting, OSI model, and network fundamentals |
| Linux | Command line, files, directories, permissions, and system administration basics |
| Web fundamentals | HTTP, URLs, web technologies, and security concepts |
| Security tools | Learning how to use and interpret security-tool output responsibly |
| Cybersecurity practice | Structured learning, lab exercises, and technical write-ups |
| Python and automation | Reading, understanding, and validating scripts |
This table describes learning areas, not professional certifications or mastery claims.
Repository: Zer-security/secure-mcp-server
The project explores a security-focused Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes explicitly registered, read-only tools for a local Kali Linux environment.
Design goals include:
- Least privilege and an explicit tool allowlist.
- Scoped authorization and OAuth 2.0 with PKCE.
- TLS and transport security protections.
- Request rate limiting and audit logging.
- Avoiding generic shell or arbitrary-code execution endpoints.
Status: Development and verification are ongoing. The design goals above do not, by themselves, establish production readiness. Refer to the project repository, tests, and current documentation for implementation details and verification status.
Portfolio documentation: MCP-Kali project page
- secure-mcp-server — read-only MCP tools and security controls for Kali Linux.
- zer-os — custom Linux operating-system project.
- Linux-Kernel — forked Linux kernel foundation for custom OS development.
- security-tools — Python utilities for network inspection, DNS/OSINT, web security, and defensive research.
- portofolio-zer-security — website source code.
Technical notes are maintained in /notes.
