What is this?
Genix-BIFY-Biotokens is a concept repository exploring what happens when you apply a BIFY-style Web3 marketplace model — real world assets (RWAs), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and AI curation, deployed on Coinbase's Base network — to the least-trusted data in science: biological sequence data.
Scientific data deserves the same verification infrastructure we apply to a deed or a painting.
Every day, bioinformatics databases ingest thousands of protein sequences with almost no guarantee any of it is accurate. This repo holds the design writing and infrastructure plan for a marketplace where verified protein/enzyme entries become tokenized, provenance-backed, AI-curated assets.
The problem
An entry labeled "phosphoglucosamine mutase" might be exactly that — or a misassembled contaminant that wastes a researcher's grant and six months of their career. An accession number means nothing without a verified, immutable record behind it. The missing layer is provenance: which sequence corresponds to which biological entity, attested by whom, with what chain of custody.

Core pillars
-
RWAs for real-world biologics Physical enzyme samples, strain collections, and lab reagents verified by third parties and tokenized on-chain — sequence, function, and provenance cryptographically attested, with an immutable chain of custody from sequencer to marketplace.
-
NFTs as sequence-provenance certificates A minted NFT representing a verified protein entry (accession, organism, EC class, computed pI/MW) creates a tamper-proof record. Labs and biotech firms act as creators: verified launchpad, on-chain royalties on licensed data, smart-contract escrow with anti-sniping auctions.
-
AI as the curation layer AI tools analyze demand trends (e.g., peptidoglycan-pathway enzymes as antibiotic targets) and flag anomalous submissions — a claimed enzyme whose pI or mass deviates wildly from its fold-family norm gets quarantined before it poisons the dataset. Curation by algorithm, verification by staking, trade by smart contract.
Token mechanics A native ERC-20 utility token (100M capped supply) pays for AI analytics jobs (pI/MW prediction, fold classification); data verifiers stake tokens to attest sequence authenticity, with slashing for fraud; governance votes set marketplace data standards. Low gas and fast finality via Base.
The reference asset
Everything in this repo is anchored to one concrete example:
Field Value Accession A0ABN5PJB1 (UniProtKB) Protein Phosphoglucosamine mutase (GlmM), EC 5.4.2.10 Organism Vibrio alfacsensis Length 729 amino acids Molecular weight 78,790.84 Da (avg) / 78,740.71 Da (monoisotopic) Theoretical pI 5.36 (acidic — net negative at neutral pH) Function GlcN-1-P ⇌ GlcN-6-P, essential to bacterial cell wall biosynthesis Why it matters Essential enzyme = promising antibiotic target; exactly the kind of asset that gets lost without provenance
Infrastructure sprint
7-day production hardening plan — status: now active. Full plan in infrastructure_sprint_plan.md.
Day Focus Exit criteria 1 Foundation & IaC Terraform everywhere, CI/CD with plan/apply gates 2 Redundancy & failover Multi-AZ, region-kill chaos drill < 60s traffic shift 3 Security hardening TLS 1.3, Vault/KMS, WAF, distroless containers 4 Monitoring & logging Prometheus/Grafana, Loki, OTel traces, paging 5 SLOs & alert tuning 99.95% availability, p99 < 500ms, < 0.1% failed tx 6 Backup, DR & compliance RPO 15min, tested restores, DR < 30min, SOC 2 evidence 7 Final validation & handoff Full chaos suite, sign-off, on-call handoff
SLOs: 99.95% availability · p99 < 500 ms · < 0.1% failed transactions
Honest caveat: 7 days delivers a hardened, redundant, observable system — not a completed smart contract audit, SOC 2 report, or battle-tested key custody. Those run as parallel workstreams starting day 1.

This repository describes a concept and design exploration. BIFY is referenced as an architectural pattern; verify any third-party project's claims independently before relying on them. Nothing here is financial, investment, legal, or medical advice. Token mechanics described are illustrative and would require audits, legal review, and regulatory analysis before any real deployment.
