Is the project still maintained? #125

Open

Description

@lychjck

Hi @estutzenberger,

I see that many issues and pull requests have been open for a while, and I was wondering if the project is still being actively maintained?

Thanks

    No, this library is stale. We have a separate version at https://github.com/rigado/ble with multiple fixes and adjustments for Linux only. However, due to business reasons, we are not pushing updates to it at this time. I'm happy to hand over maintenance of this library to anyone who wants it as I am not able to maintain it.

    Any takers?

    It is a quite a bit different in the implementation, but please feel free to take a look at https://github.com/tinygo-org/bluetooth

    I am interested in giving it a try. I've actually done quite a bit of development on top of this library for my own projects, so I am familiar with the codebase.

    Regarding the rigado/ble version you mentioned: since you cannot push updates to it anymore, would it be possible for you to merge those Linux fixes and adjustments into this repository as a final commit before handing it over? That would be a really helpful starting point.

    Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

    Thanks for your suggestion
    Since I have already built a significant part of my application on top of this library, the migration cost would be a bit high for me right now. That's why I'm hoping to maintain/revive this repo to keep my current stack working.
    But I will definitely keep TinyGo in mind for future projects!
