The new website is meant to be EASY to update without directly modifying any of the source code. The only files you need to interact with should be the JSON and markdowns files.
src/json
carousel.json
news.json
people.json
pubs.json
The Everest page (/everest/) is built from these files:
src/json
everest-team.json # people, grouped as faculty, affiliate_faculty, postdocs, research_engineers, students, alumni
everest-projects.json # project cards; leave "url" as null if a project has no public page
everest-events.json # events; dates are YYYY-MM-DD and move to "Past events" automatically
- Team photos go in
src/images/people/; setphototo the file name. The build fails if the file is missing. - The publication list is generated from
pubs.json. It shows papers from the two most recent years that have an Everest student, postdoc, research engineer, or alumnus as an author. If DBLP spells someone's name differently from the site, add that spelling to theirdblpNameslist.
src/markdowns
projects/
treeline.mdx
...
To add projects, please add a new .mdx file/ update your existing .mdx files. Each markdown file must have both the frontmatter (stuff within the dashes) and the content (stuff after the dashes). Please make sure to wrap title and summary in double quotation marks. If you need to escape quotes, do something like \"escape\".

# if you want to add an image

Images are in two locations, either src/images or static/. Only the carousel images on the home page should be added to static/carousel, all other images should be added to their respective folders in src/images.
