1-192: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAdd a test that updates the profile after the CR exists.
Every case creates the profile before it creates the CR. The new ConfigMap watch and the
findObjectsForTLSProfilemapping are therefore never exercised. Add one case with these steps:
- Create Redis or Memcached without a profile.
- Publish or update the profile.
- Use
Eventuallyto assert that the rendered config changes. This case covers the reconcile path that rolls the StatefulSets.

Remove the fork replacements before merge. They fail the go.mod lint.
The Lints / check for replace lines in go.mod files job fails on both lines. Each replace line must match /apis => ./apis or end with //allow-merging. Both lib-common modules resolve to github.com/fmount/lib-common, a personal fork. That fork is not acceptable as a merged dependency.
After lib-common PR #757 merges, bump the require versions of modules/common and modules/test to the upstream commit. Then delete these lines.

The cluster-wide TLS profile support (util.TLSProfileConfigMap and util.ApplyTemplateDefaults) has not merged upstream yet. Pin the common and test modules to the fork so infra-operator can start consuming it. Revert this commit once the change lands in openstack-k8s-operators/lib-common. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
lib-common now merges the openstack-ssl-profile ConfigMap, which the openstack-operator maintains from the cluster's TLSSecurityProfile, into the ConfigOptions of every rendered Template. Its keys use Apache mod_ssl vocabulary (SSLProtocol, SSLCipherSuite) because that is what lib-common's shared ssl.conf consumes, so the automatic merge does nothing for services that do not speak Apache: the values have to be parsed and re-rendered per daemon. Add internal/tlsprofile to do that translation, and wire it into the two controllers that render their config through EnsureConfigMaps. This is what lets an administrator pin the whole deployment to TLS 1.3 for post-quantum safety from a single cluster-wide setting. A missing ConfigMap means no cluster-wide policy and leaves both services on the defaults they had before. A ConfigMap that exists but holds a value we cannot parse is an error rather than a silent fallback, because rendering the old defaults would downgrade a setting the administrator mandated. Cipher tokens are validated against an allowlist: the memcached value is interpolated into a shell-sourced options file, and a cipher list never needs characters that could break out of it. Memcached gets ssl_min_version and ssl_ciphers. Only the pre-1.3 ciphers go into ssl_ciphers, which maps onto SSL_CTX_set_cipher_list and is therefore ignored by TLS 1.3; memcached exposes no equivalent of SSL_CTX_set_ciphersuites, so the profile's ciphersuite list has no effect there. Redis gets tls-protocols, tls-ciphers and tls-ciphersuites, emitted only when the profile has an opinion. Both controllers now watch the profile ConfigMap so a policy change rolls the StatefulSet instead of waiting for an unrelated reconcile. The watch adds no new informer, as the operator already caches ConfigMaps for the DNS controllers. RabbitMQ is not covered yet: it hand-builds its Erlang advanced.config rather than going through util.Template, and folding the profile in means deciding how it composes with the existing FIPS and version-4 logic. This patch makes Memcached, Redis, and Redis Sentinel consume the
openstack-ssl-profileConfigMappublished by the OpenStack Operator, which should allow administrators to control TLS protocols and ciphers through the inherited cluster TLS security profile. This will allow us to inherit the, presumably, TLS 1.3 PQC-safe configuration that is coming from the OpenStack Operator without having to do so ourselves. The following changes were made in this patch:
TLSProfile's Apache-style settings into each service's native configuration.TLSProfileConfigMapchanges to reconcile affected resources and rollStatefulSetswhen the configuration changes.Note that Memcached cannot configure TLS 1.3 cipher suites and retains OpenSSL defaults for those. There's actually not a way in Memcached to call the
SSL_CTX_set_ciphersuites()function from OpenSSL for TLS 1.3 (TLS 1.2 and earlier require a call toSSL_CTX_set_cipher_list()) so will require a change to Memcached to expose the separate TLS 1.3 setting. However, we can just use the-o ssl_min_version=tlsv1.3as it will use OpenSSL's configuration.I didn't touch RabbitMQ yet and will do so in another patch since it's slightly more complicated.
TODO: We will need to remove the pinned versions of
lib-commonand the test modules once openstack-k8s-operators/lib-common#757 and openstack-k8s-operators/openstack-operator#2096 merge.
