I do appreciate the PR, but we're not yet ready. to jump to 2.0x testcontainers.

I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard DOCKER_API_VERSION="1.24" will work around for now. Will investigate

No problem, we're currently using maven version management to override the testcontainers dependency to 2.0.2 which seems to work in our case.

Our affected developers were also able to work around the issue with something like

echo api.version=1.44 >> ~/.docker-java.properties

@sgdesmet Actually if the recent SB 3.5.8 "fix" is relevant, basically all you need to do is put that in src/main/resources -

That seems like a convenient opt in on a library by library basis. I might even with discussion put that in here (you can override with your own copy if desired). But tbh I think it's dubious practice by spring to do that ;)

anyway I share the src/main.resource trick because you migth find it useful yourself.

Can we just upgrade to 1.21.4 then? It also contains the fix for running against Docker 29.0.0.
