Closes #3174.

Qdrant's search is deprecated in favor of the query_* API. This adds the three replacement methods to the instrumented method lists:

  • query_points + query_batch_points were already in the sync list; this adds them to the async list.
  • query_points_groups was missing from both lists; added to both.

Following maintainer feedback on #3227 (reuse existing semconv rather than new attributes), the wrapper maps:

  • query_points → qdrant.search.* attributes (existing)
  • query_batch_points → qdrant.search_batch.* attributes (existing)
  • query_points_groups → qdrant.search_groups.* attributes (new mapping) + top_k

Verification (focused, qdrant package only):

  • 4/4 existing tests pass (packages/opentelemetry-instrumentation-qdrant/tests/)
  • Manual sanity check: query_points_groups emits qdrant.query_points_groups span with qdrant.search_groups.collection_name and db.vector.query.top_k
  • All 52 method entries resolve against installed qdrant-client

Does not touch #3492.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Qdrant tracing now includes point, batch, and grouped point-query operations.
    • Grouped-query traces include collection details, making query activity easier to distinguish.
    • Query traces capture result limits more consistently, including when the limit is provided positionally.

…oints_groups

Add the three query_* methods replacing deprecated search to both sync
and async method lists. Reuse existing search/search_batch/search_groups
semantic conventions per maintainer feedback on traceloop#3227, mapping
query_points_groups to search_groups attributes in the wrapper.

Walkthrough

Qdrant instrumentation now maps additional synchronous and asynchronous query methods to spans. It also records search attributes for query_points_groups and resolves limit from bound method arguments when needed.

Changes: Qdrant query instrumentation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Register query methods and grouped-query attributes
packages/opentelemetry-instrumentation-qdrant/opentelemetry/instrumentation/qdrant/*
Adds async mappings for query_points, query_batch_points, and query_points_groups, plus a sync mapping for query_points_groups. Routes grouped queries through search-attribute handling and resolves limit from bound arguments when it is absent from keyword arguments.

_set_search_attributes only read limit from kwargs, so positional calls
recorded the default 10. Bind call args against the wrapped method's
signature since limit sits at a different index per method.
